Enterprise Software Engineer
We are seeking a strategic and technically versatile Enterprise Software Engineer who can bridge enterprise architecture and hands-on development to align technology with business goals. This role is responsible for designing and implementing solutions that integrate systems across the organization, ensuring they are optimized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide the architecture framework for Critical Technologies Operations and Engineering functions, guiding the design, deployment, and operations of solutions and programs.
- Establish standards, guidelines, architecture patterns, and reusable assets to improve productivity and mitigate risks.
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap in alignment with Critical Technologies business strategy.
- Lead architectural design sessions and define technology standards, guiding solutions to be modular, scalable, and secure.
- Collaborate with technical leads and stakeholders to ensure the architecture aligns with mission requirements, agency standards, and compliance mandates.
- Integrate security at every level of system design in line with DevSecOps principles.
- Guide the selection and implementation of tools, platforms, and patterns supporting microservices, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive digital modernization initiatives including cloud migration, zero-trust architecture, data strategy, and shared service adoption.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to staff.
- Evaluates and proposes changes in processes and tools.
- Plan for future-state technology portfolios and IT program investments
- Drive the application of emerging technologies to current CT environments
- Drive solution architecture, ensure technical alignment and facilitate technical solution delivery.
- Hold accountability for maintaining high levels of solution performance, availability and capacity, demonstrating a commitment to quality.
- Work within CT’s IT Organization to successfully influence the direction of key technical elements of the solution environment.
- Establish yourself as a key domain technical leader at Enterprise level.
- Analyze business needs, prepare enterprise architectural diagrams and documentation.
- Create a road map for organizational technology strategies by aligning business goals
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack web development
- Proven ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into working applications
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular)
- Strong back-end development skills (e.g., Node.js, Python/Django, Ruby on Rails, or .NET)
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and writing efficient queries
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD concepts
- Understanding of web security best practices and authentication methods
Development Approach
- Ability to work independently and manage projects from concept to deployment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Comfortable working directly with end users to understand needs and iterate on solutions
- Focus on building maintainable, well-documented code
