| DEMONSTRATES COMPETENCY TO PERFORM TRANSPORTATION DUTIES REQUIRED BY THE HOSPITAL WHICH INCLUDE: |
| Insures the comfort of the patient while transporting |
| Transports using wheelchairs and stretchers |
| Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting |
| Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return TAT |
| Communicates any delays back to department |
| When delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignment |
| Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, etc. |
| In times of high activity, helps out in any other area as needed |
| Assists nursing staff removing patient from bed when necessary |
| Maintains patient privacy when transporting |
| Engages patient in conversation during the transport |
| Makes equipment rounds and transports equipment back to central supply, PACU or any other area of the hospital as directed. |
| Picks up medication s from pharmacy as directed and brings to appropriate floor |
| Responsible for maintaining and cleaning Transportation equipment (ex: wheel chairs, stretchers, beds, etc.), before and after transporting patients. |
| Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools. |
| Performs related services such as , bed ,oves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc. |
| Maintains high standards; works steadily at an efficient pace; achieves high QA score. |
| Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies special needs, spills, etc. |
| Accepts direction from Supervisors and hospital staff. |
| Accepts and absorbs Department and Hospital education program. |
| Exercises good judgement while working around patients and visitors. Remains professional at all times. |
| Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs. Assists other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided. Performs other duties as assigned. |
Education + Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalency 6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting. Credentials + Qualifications: BLS - AHA approved |
