Key Responsibilities: 

Sr. Analysts demonstrate these skills to support value-added projects across many of United’s departments 

  • Working on or leading workstreams within projects in conjunction with business teams to identify opportunities for improvement, gather and analyze information and data, develop improvements and innovations 

  • Gathering and analyzing data of United’s various operations to make fact-based, data-driven recommendations 

  • Utilizing technical skills and software (simulation in SIMO/ARENA, Excel, VBA, etc.) to analyze and improve business processes and to create tools for use by other departments 

  • Performing measurement and analysis (time and motion studies) in different environments, including airports, maintenance bases, customer contact centers, etc. 


What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or other relevant degrees. 

  • 2 years of experience in analytics, engineering, continuous improvement, or consulting  

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft products and in statistical software such as Minitab or JMP 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Business Administration 

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification from a recognized institution 

  • Experience with SIMIO/ARENA, SQL, Minitab, Visual Basic (VBA), and other programming tools
