Job Summary

Galleher Industries has an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager to lead the launch and ongoing engineering operations of our new Lafayette, IN facility.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled and hands-on engineering professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building systems, processes, and teams from the ground up. You’ll lead process design, equipment selection, cost estimating, and project execution — all while ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency are at the forefront of every decision.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead all Engineering and Maintenance initiatives for the Lafayette start-up facility.

· Oversee process design, equipment identification, and plant layout planning to support new production operations.

· Develop cost estimates for new products and projects in coordination with leadership and sales teams.

· Manage product launch activities including tooling and fixture design, equipment installation, and production startup.

· Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, customers, and the sales team on product specifications and feasibility.

· Partner with Operations and Maintenance to ensure new processes meet production, quality, and safety standards.

· Maintain accurate documentation of engineering designs, revisions, and process changes.

· Support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through data-driven analysis and innovation.

· Participate in vendor evaluations and manage equipment commissioning.

· Build a collaborative engineering culture that values problem-solving, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred).

· 5–10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Proficiency in SolidWorks (required).

· Experience with CNC equipment — programming experience strongly preferred.

· Proven project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

· Hands-on experience with fixture design, tooling, and equipment startup.

· Experience in transportation manufacturing (trailers, truck bodies, or similar) a plus.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

· Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across departments and multiple locations.

· Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
