Milk Intake Technician
Location: Bellshill Dairy
Contract Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: £12.66 + shift premiums
Premium Pay Rates
- Saturday: 1.25x hourly rate
- Sunday: 1.5x hourly rate
- Public Holidays: 2x hourly rate
- Unsociable Hours (6pm – 4am): Additional 23%
Shift Pattern
Working 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift basis:
- Day Shift: 06:00 – 14:30
- Back Shift: 14:00 – 22:30
- Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:30
About the Role
We are seeking a Milk Intake Technician to join the Process Department at Bellshill Dairy, part of Müller Milk & Ingredients. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of:
- Raw milk intake
- Fresh milk and cream processing
- Cream export operations
- Chemical offload area
- Laboratory testing and reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Sampling and testing of raw and finished products
- Recording and updating lab results using dedicated systems
- Loading cream export tankers
- Liaising with production departments
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Conducting quality assurance checks
- Manual cleaning duties
- Supporting additional tasks as required
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment (preferably food-related)
- Understanding of quality assurance and continuous improvement practices
- High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
