As our Android QA Engineer (f/m/d), you’ll join our team to help shape the future of mobile lottery experiences. You’ll play a key role in evolving our Android app by implementing robust tests for Jetpack Compose / Kotlin and web views, ensuring a robust, smooth, and accessible experience that millions trust.
Your tasks:
Drive the spirit of High Quality within the team. Test and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose Test and Espresso.
Take ownership of the quality of our Android apps — from ideation and implementation to testing and release.
Own and maintain the test framework in collaboration with the developers and QA engineers to create automated tests in Android, manually test user stories and explore the quality of the apps.
Collaborate closely with developers, UX designers, and product owners in your direct team and beyond, and work with backend, frontend, other QA engineers and DevOps developers across other teams.
Conduct thorough reviews of product specifications and software design to identify potential areas of concern even before testing.
Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and best practices to enhance software testing efficiency and effectiveness.
Monitor performance and stability with Firebase Crashlytics, and explore opportunities to enhance observability with tools.
Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring clear communication of issues and recommend actions for fixing.
Participate in code reviews, mentor colleagues, and help uphold quality standards across the team.
What you offer us:
You bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience testing native Android apps.
You’re a collaborative team player who thrives in a cross-functional team with UX, product, and developers, and you’re comfortable working with quality engineers from other teams to deliver end-to-end features.
Practical experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose Test and Espresso, and an interest in growing that skill.
Solid understanding of testing pyramid and diagnosis of complex problems.
You are comfortable writing UI and end-to-end tests.
Familiarity with app release processes, Google Play Store, continuous integration using GitHub Actions or similar and finding issues with Firebase Crashlytics.
Experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and modern networking libraries.
Strong English and good German communication skills, both written and spoken.
Detail-oriented with a good eye for UI/UX and accessibility principles.
Experience with testing other apps like iOS apps and web apps are a plus.
