Teacher MLL Sherwood Heights Elementary School at Auburn School Department

Auburn School Department is seeking a candidate who is excited about joining our very supportive school community! Sherwood Heights is seeking an eligible K-6 Multi Language Learner teacher candidate who: Teaches district approved curriculum aligned to Maine Learning Results and local curriculum expectations. Implements the Lau Plan at assigned school. Maintains records and meets federal, state, and local mandates. Works with MLL coordinator, school administrators and school staff in meeting appropriate instructional needs. Administers English proficiency assessments( i.e., ACCESS, ACCESS online screening). Implements accommodations on the MEA and local designated common assessments. Differentiates the curriculum and instructional practices in meeting Maine Learning Results standards and local curriculum and learning expectations. Works collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education and Title I staff. Attends regularly scheduled professional learning team meetings with MLL staff throughout the district. Supports and regularly communicates with MLL educational technicians (as the program grows). Schedules student daily participation in the MLL Program, whether it be Pull-out or Push-in services, as appropriate to each student. Serves as a resource to students and parents for educational related purposes. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, across all grade levels.
