Key Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated annual Group financial statements under IFRS for the Annual Report and results announcements.
- Lead the global year-end audit process, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Draft technical papers for the Audit Committee, focusing on compliance, governance, and risk management.
- Provide expert financial accounting guidance to regional teams, addressing complex technical issues and ensuring consistency across the Group.
- Build advanced financial models to support scenario analysis and strategic decision-making.
- Develop detailed cashflow forecasts to support going concern assessments and long-term planning efforts.
- Partner with Treasury to manage FX exposure and implement hedging strategies to mitigate financial risk.
- Monitor and report on debt covenant compliance, working proactively to address any issues.
- Collaborate with the Tax team to develop and implement planning strategies, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- Lead the accounting and reporting for share-based payment schemes, ensuring full compliance with IFRS 2.
- Deliver accurate valuations, analyses, and disclosures in line with regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Perform internal control reviews to strengthen governance frameworks, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Work closely with finance, treasury, tax, and operational teams to ensure alignment, transparency, and consistency in financial processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, bankers, and external advisors, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Fully qualified ACA accountant, with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in HQ roles for AIM-listed or publicly quoted companies.
- Expertise in external financial reporting, advanced financial modelling, and IFRS 2 compliance.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with the ability to apply technical principles to practical challenges.
- Strong financial modelling skills, including experience with going concern, impairment reviews, and liquidity planning.
- A solid understanding of consolidation principles and financial processes.
- A collaborative team player who works effectively across departments and geographies.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
