The Receiving Clerk, under the supervision of the Storeroom Supervisor and ultimately the Materials Manager, is responsible for receiving all incoming shipments from various vendors/shippers and insuring that the quantities ordered are received in good condition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all items received at the loading dock.
- Responsible for the maintenance of a filing system on all “open” orders and all partially complete orders.
- Responsible for matching packing slips with receiving portion of the Purchase Order and properly recording what items are received.
- Personally signs for all incoming shipments.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all shortages, overages, damages, and any other discrepancies to the Purchasing Agent and/or Storeroom Supervisor.
- Stocks shelves and rotates stock items, taking note of any listed expiration dates so as to keep all products current and up-to-date.
- Assists Storeroom Clerk by filling routine stock orders and delivering them as necessary to various ordering departments.
- Assists in mailing/shipping all items to be returned for credit or repair.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe Warehouse/Storeroom.
- Responsible for ensuring that no refrigerated or next day packages are left unattended on the dock.
- Other duties, assigned by Materials Manager or Storeroom Supervisor.
Education: High School Diploma/GED required. Vocational/Technical degree in a Business related field preferred.
Licensure: Valid Driver's License.
Experience: 1 year in receiving/materials management/hospital required.
Additional experience preferred:
- Must be well organized with attention to detail and stable work habits.
- Personal contact with all levels of hospital personnel, requires a person with pleasant personality, tactful approach, and a willingness to accomplish the job in a cheerful and helpful attitude.
