Our client, a major player in the Montreal business scene, is currently seeking a Legal Counsel with at least 5 years of experience in real estate and transactional law, commercial leases, and litigation management to join their excellent legal department.

YOUR ROLE:
As Legal Counsel, you will be part of a strong legal team and will oversee the work of at least one corporate law paralegal. You will enjoy a high level of autonomy across a wide range of diverse files.
Your responsibilities will include:
Independently managing commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions, sales, and financing) and drafting transactional documents;
Drafting and reviewing commercial leases and various corporate documents (shareholder agreements, resolutions, powers of attorney, management contracts);
Providing legal support in the preparation, review, and interpretation of standard CCDC contracts and other construction agreements, in collaboration with project and construction management teams;
Managing litigation by advising and supporting internal stakeholders, and overseeing litigation files handled by external counsel;
Supporting financing, refinancing, and real estate asset purchase/sale transactions;
Assisting various business units by drafting documents in areas such as marketing, real estate, management, and corporate affairs.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or the Chambre des notaires du Québec;
Relevant experience of approximately 5 years or more in a similar role;
Strong communication skills, bilingualism and strong writing skills;
Team player, dynamic and rigorous personality.
