We are seeking a talented Application Support Engineer with strong experience in automation testing and a solid foundation in application support for platform products. 

The ideal candidate has a hybrid skill set across QA, automation, and production support, with exposure to AI, prompt engineering, and modern platform ecosystems

Position Duties

  • Provide comprehensive application support for platform products, ensuring their stability and performance in production environments.

  • Lead a team specializing in manual testing, API tests, test automation, and performance tests, with a focus on identifying and resolving application issues.

  • Lead the implementation of automation test frameworks to streamline issue identification and resolution, and ensure fast resolution of queries from the test team and customer support.

  • Follow best practices for application monitoring and troubleshooting, and coordinate cross-team efforts to address and resolve application issues, acting as a central communication point between business, technology, and engineering teams.

  • Promote efficient application support through automation, tools, and other best practices, and monitor application health and performance, escalating critical issues as needed.

  • Review, evaluate, and document existing application support processes and solutions, and monitor defect status and backlogs, escalating risk areas as appropriate.

  • Create and oversee plans for both automated and manual regression testing, with a focus on platform products involving identity login, ESB, and audit, to ensure application quality.

  • Design, build, and maintain test frameworks for performance testing to ensure applications meet performance requirements.

  • Manage multiple priorities across many products and in time-sensitive situations, prioritizing application support and testing methodologies based on prior areas of concern and areas of current/future development focus.

  • Self-manage, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to work through it to get the right things done, and manage individual QA team resource allocations to projects, providing leadership/guidance of project level activities and career development activities.

  • Ensure end-to-end QA/Staging/UAT testing initiatives, including thorough testing of identity login, ESB, and audit functionalities, and provide input to the estimation process for application support and testing efforts.

  • Lead the development of application support strategies and test plan documents for upcoming projects, and identify and assess application risks using a systematic approach.

  • Maintain regression test suites and other test case repositories, and advise QA Manager/Project Manager regarding overall quality of project and application health, raising outstanding issues through established channels.

  • Mentor junior software quality engineers and coach team members on quality assurance and application support approaches, recommending appropriate practices to support product definition, design, development, and launch.

  • Collaborate effectively with customer support and engineering teams to address and resolve application issues and improve overall application reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


What You Have

  • 5+ years of experience in QA/testing, with emphasis on automation testing and some manual testing.

  • Hands-on experience with API testing, Robot Framework, Postman, and JMeter.

  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.

  • Strong understanding of platform engineering environments.

  • Experience testing IDP systems, SSO logins, and message bus systems.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and Elasticsearch for validation and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with production monitoring and debugging using observability tools.

  • Proven experience in leading QA teams or initiatives.

  • Exposure to AI testing and prompt engineering concepts.

  • Experience with testing platform products involving identity login, ESB, and audit.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customer support and engineering teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Basic coding experience for debugging or small enhancements.
