Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel)

Location: Alexandria, LA
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: 3×12 Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay: $2,156.04/week + $2,500 completion bonus per contract (up to $7,500 total after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg RN to provide high-quality care on a fast-paced post-surgical and neuro-focused unit. This nurse will care for patients recovering from orthopedic and general surgical procedures, as well as those with neurological conditions. The ideal candidate is confident in managing a full patient assignment, able to respond to rapidly changing conditions, and dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical and neuro patients
• Conduct ongoing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol and monitor responses
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions accurately
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, medications, and discharge plans
• Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Respond to urgent and emergent clinical needs, maintaining patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience required; post-surgical/neuro preferred
• BLS required
• BSN preferred
• Willingness to work weekends as needed
• Ability to float within scope if required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: typically 5:1–6:1
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required
