Major Duties
Supervise subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Lead associates utilizing effective communications skills. Train and coach associates to ensure they are well-equipped to provide a personalized shopping experience. Provide support to subordinate associates during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise.
Ensure loss prevention and accountability procedures are followed and minimizes all controllable expenses. Assure compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, and security regulations, as well as ensuring the security of fixed assets, cash, and inventory. May need to be knowledgeable of EPA guidelines regarding the selling of gasoline and emergency procedures to be followed.
Operate a cash register or other sales related equipment to enter new accounts, conduct sales, refunds, or similar transactions. Ensure all sales transactions are completed accurately. Verify and accept multiple tenders for payment and make change with accuracy and zero variance tolerance. Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient.
Receive and record merchandise following established guidelines.
Provide high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service. Greet each customer upon contact, assess their needs, suggest alternative options, and provide solution resolution. Keep their needs foremost and create a welcoming environment, actively engage, and build trust relationship with the customer to deliver a personalized shopping experience.
Actively communicate/promote the benefits of the Military Star credit card, Exchange protection plan, and other corporate programs to customers to drive sales growth and increase customer brand loyalty.
