DRILL RIG DIESEL TECHNICIAN | POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Heavy Equipment/ Drill Rig Diesel Technician, you will be diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of the diesel heavy engines including, but not limited to construction equipment and drill rigs.
DRILL RIG DIESEL TECHNICIAN | ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Including DOT inspections.
• Prepares and maintains records and reports.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, transmission and brake troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs vehicles and equipment.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment and drill rigs using hoists and hand tools.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
DRILL RIG DIESEL TECHNICIAN | COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of all sizes of commercial trucks and equipment such as skid steer, excavator, drill rig, etc.
- Making decisions and problem solving.
- Analyzing data or information.
- Organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
DRILL RIG DIESEL TECHNICIAN | POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a full-time position, ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
DRILL RIG DIESEL TECHNICIAN | REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- For insurability purposes a valid driver’s license is required.
- Two (2) years diesel mechanic experience required.
- Must have own tools.
DRILL RIG DIESEL TECHNICIAN | PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Vocational or technical school diploma or certification preferred but not required.
- Class E required and minimum Class B CDL strongly preferred.

PAY RANGE: $21 - $25/hr

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
