EJ has an immediate opening for a 2026 Environmental, Health and Safety Intern.

Summary: 

The intern will gain hands-on experience at a modern iron foundry that began operations in September of 2001. This role offers opportunities to engage in real-world problem-solving and contribute to operational excellence. Responsibilities involve updating the facility’s Emergency Response Plan by mapping key safety features such as first aid kits, tornado shelters, rally points, and eye wash stations, as well as reviewing lockout/tagout procedures to ensure compliance. The intern will also assist in converting job hazard analyses to a standardized format while gaining insight into foundry operations and environmental health and safety practices through job shadowing with department leaders. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Update facility emergency response plan 
  • Review and update lockout/tagout processes 
  • Standardize job hazard analyses 
  • Gain hands on experience in a foundry setting

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: 

Sophomore, Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field from a four-year college or university.
