QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: High School graduate or G.E.D., some college preferred.
  • Required: Minimum 1 year computer experience.
  • Required: A valid Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • JOB SUMMARY

  • The Supply Associate provides exemplary customer service to the hospital by providing inventory and equipment support to the Service Lines and Corporate Resource departments through the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy in the warehouse and on patient units. The Supply Associate must have computer skills to order department supplies and charge them appropriately through use of a Materials Management computer system (MMIS). The Supply Associate has responsibility for maintaining the warehouse and unit storage areas in a neat and orderly manner which meets the requirements of health department and life safety codes while providing an efficient method for product distribution to service areas.

  • Frequent long periods of standing and walking.
  • Frequent pushing of supply carts up to 100 lbs. across long distances through the hospital.
  • Frequent lifting of heavy packages and equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching above shoulders to stock upper shelves, as well as bending and twisting to stock lower shelves.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accurately maintains inventory in the warehouse, stockroom and patient units through use of MMIS and Pyxis software; in addition to the physical placement and labeling of items.
  • Picks and distributes supplies using appropriate units of measure in accordance with pick tickets.
  • Participates in weekly physical inventory Cycle Counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Monitors PAR forecasts, and communicates recommended adjustments to Manager to ensure an in-stock position of 98% or higher.
  • Assures all supply charges are accurately applied in a timely manner, normally same day as issued.
  • Maintains the warehouse, stockroom, and patient supply areas in an orderly, and sanitary manner which meets the requirements of health department and life safety codes.
  • The Supply Associate examines supplies for sterility, integrity, and expiration, and takes appropriate action.
  • Shares in the picking and distribution, to all hospital units, of specially requisitioned supplies.
  • Participates in the upkeep and maintenance of special hospital unit carts: Crash Carts, isolation Carts.
  • Receives daily shipments of supplies from vendors into the warehouse, and documents actions in both a paper and computer system.
  • Places new supplies into stockroom storage and or distributes supplies.
  • Daily participates in repackaging of supplies, as needed, to reflect the correct pick-able unit of measure.
  • Drives vehicles, uses equipment, carts, and elevators safely and according to established policies and procedures.
