The Director of Research Administration is responsible for oversight of administrative responsibilities of the Research Center.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct core administrative functions of the Research Center—grants management, financial stewardship, policy/procedure rollout, training and communications—and lead team operations, including agenda setting and minute-taking. Collaborate with Parker’s Business Office to ensure proper application of policies and regulations for external grant proposals, compliance protocols, and award acceptance; review and route all submissions in accordance with University policy, and communicate requirements and decisions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to governmental agencies overseeing compliance regulations and grants management.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures (for review by institutional officials) to ensure University research activities align with applicable regulations; support the Research Center’s strategic planning, and prepare Board of Trustees reports and presentations.
  • Act as the point of contact for consultants and vendors engaged with the Research Center.
  • Partner with Parker’s Marketing Department to coordinate news releases, social media plans, and infographics that disseminate scientific outputs from the Research Center.
  • Partner with Marketing to maintain the Research Center’s internal and external web presence and assist in creating educational materials for diverse stakeholders (prospective students, current students, alumni, and partners).
  • Oversee the maintenance of comprehensive research databases and files for Research Center activities.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Program to recruit students; manage applications; conduct orientation; assist with course scheduling; and oversee research practicums and capstone projects for any master’s program affiliated with the Research Center

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: 

EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:

  • A Master’s degree is required

  • A minimum of five years of experience working in a University research environment is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ETC:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations related to compliance for grants and contracts is required.

  • Advocate effectively for internal and external support of research, scholarship and creative activity to advance the mission of the University

  • Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

  • Competency in computer programs related to electronic research administration, classroom-based and distance training, and report generation.

  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to conduct normal classroom and hands on lab courses including operation of sonography equipment; This may include lifting, pulling, bending and squatting. 

  • Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk. 

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move medium to heavy weight up to fifty (50) pounds and/or exert up to fifty (50) pounds of force. 

  • Gross and fine motor skills; Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal.  Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp required to assist students with providing safe and effective diagnostic sonograms.
