The Public Works Department is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to join a customer-focused team performing general building maintenance, inspections, and repairs. This team also supports all Town departments with routine and special requests.
Examples of Duties:
- Performing building preventive and reactive maintenance and repair work; responding to requests for building repair and maintenance; maintaining records.
- Consults with Facilities Supervisor concerning work assignments;
- Inspects electrical and HVAC systems to ensure proper operation;
- Investigates complaints and takes appropriate action;
- Performs maintenance and repair work on electrical systems;
- Installs, repairs and replaces electrical systems such as wiring, conduit, switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, grounds, controls, relays and alarm systems;
- Maintains logs, reports and job status records; utilizes an online computerized maintenance management system;
- Determines tool and material requirements for assigned work;
- Ensures that assigned work is accomplished in accordance with procedures;
- Assists other departments with special events, concerts, etc.;
- Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures in all buildings;
- Does a variety of carpentry and mechanical work and repairing buildings;
- Does some janitorial duties when required; helps to monitor janitorial contractor;
- Performs related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Professional experience in commercial building maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and/or plumbing systems is required. Preference will be given to applicants with carpentry or plumbing experience.
- A driver's license and good driving record are required.
- Understand and demonstrate extensive knowledge of commercial buildings to ensure effective operations and maintenance.

The salary range shown is the hiring range. The starting salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills and qualifications.
