Rediscover the Joy of Nursing
Imagine being part of a team where your care truly transforms lives — not in a rushed clinical environment, but in a supportive community where you can connect 1:1 with the people you serve.
At LARC, you’ll have the opportunity to slow down, build meaningful relationships, and bring your skills to a place where every interaction matters.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you’ll provide compassionate, individualized care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in home and community-based settings. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team that values empathy, respect, and empowerment — all while enjoying a more balanced, fulfilling pace.
What You’ll Do
- Provide exceptional nursing care and oversight by implementing health care plans, charting vital signs, and administering medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Support individuals in their daily routines, offering personal care and health guidance as outlined in each Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Build long-term, trusting relationships with the individuals you support and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, guardians, and team members to ensure holistic, person-centered care.
- Accompany individuals on community outings — enjoy activities like picnics, movies, bowling, or dining out as part of LARC’s vision of “community for all.”
This is more than nursing — it’s caring with purpose, forming bonds that enrich lives, including your own.
Why You’ll Love Working at LARC
- Unparalleled Health Insurance: No deductible on most services, with low weekly employee contributions.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Medical, dental, company-paid vision and life insurance.
- Generous Time Off: 3 weeks of paid leave in your first year, plus paid sick time and 12 holidays.
- Retirement Support: 401(k) with company contribution.
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a calmer pace and smaller caseloads — allowing you to focus on quality, not quantity.
- Team Culture: Join a community of professionals who believe in dignity, respect, and inclusion for all.
Requirements and Responsibilities
What You’ll Bring
- A current, active Connecticut LPN license.
- A valid Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain — training provided).
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to person-centered care.
- The ability to lift and support individuals with limited mobility when needed.
- (Preferred) Experience working with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) nursing policies and procedures — training provided if needed.
