Description

The Revenue Cycle and Claims Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving outstanding receivables for private, state and federal insurance programs. This position plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the agency by ensuring timely and accurate claim submission, payment posting, and follow-up on unpaid claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and collections, with previous experience in home health or home care preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process insurance claims for accuracy and compliance with payer requirements.
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through communication with payers and internal teams.
  • Work directly with state and federal insurance programs (Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care Organizations) to ensure all receivables are collected in a timely manner.
  • Research and resolve claim discrepancies, denials, and payment issues.
  • Post payments and adjustments accurately within the billing system.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all collection activities.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support accurate and complete claim documentation.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare claims management required.
  • Previous home health or home care experiences are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing guidelines.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
