As a Sales Support Representative, you have the opportunity to take initiative to help service and grow all our customers. This entry level sales position will expose you to every aspect of the Weekes business as you work with all our Weekes teams. Weekes Forest Products distributes high quality brand names, and we are looking for a candidate that is an influencer, has a sincere appreciation for people, and craves a fast-paced work environment. An ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter who can build and maintain internal and external customer relationships
Responsibilities:
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with sales and operations personnel of our customers to ensure the success of programs and special-order business.
- Work with WFP sales and operations personnel to maximize sales and coordinate activities.
- Assist with inbound and outbound phone traffic, order entry, and purchasing of products.
- Strong self-direction and an interest in achieving results with and through people.
- Provide regular updates on sales, market status, opportunities, and critical issues to the division sales team.
- Participate in contractor events and in-store product demonstrations.
- Conduct product knowledge (PK) sessions with customers to ensure store personnel are comfortable selling our products.
- Assist WFP leadership with one-time projects for operations, sales and EWP.
- Ensure all stores are supplied with literature, samples, and brochures.
- Industry Acumen (Develop a working knowledge of the building industry, Develop a working knowledge of each segment we sell/interact, Residential/Remodel, Industrial, Commercial)
- Branch Orientation and Support (Learn the functions of each department and how it relates to sales, Operations, EWP, General/Administration, Product Management & Inventory Analysis)
- Accounts (Understand what attributes are needed to be an account, Understand the different customer groups (21 groups), Know the characteristics/attributes of each customer group, Know how to open a new account)
- Product Knowledge (Working knowledge of all products, build relationships with all product vendors, Attend vendor training courses and events, Provide product training to customers)
- Utilize Agility for Order Entry, Stock Status, Unbilled Orders, Purchase Orders, RMA/Credits, and Customer Look up.
- Sales Process (Learn our account management and planning, Learn our selling process, Develop selling basics, Learn sales presentation development and presenting, Complete joint sales calls with account managers, Assist with marketing and selling promotions, Customer Support, Set-up and attend dealer events, Product training at customers, Operation support, Customer deliveries, Selling Support, Answer and assist inbound communications, Complete outbound communication to customers, Enter orders and print tickets)
- Other duties as assigned.
