Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety conscious Mechanical Journeyman - Plumber/Pipefitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems used for the conveyance of fluids and gases. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, excels at interpreting blueprints and schematics, and is committed to delivering high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical piping systems, equipment, and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Layout and assemble materials to build complete systems for the conveyance of fluids and gases. Install and modify mechanical components and systems, ensuring all specifications are met.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.
- Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute repairs and installations.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices. Actively participate in safety programs and report any hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Work with other technicians, engineers, and teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- Safely and efficiently operate various hand and power tools necessary for the maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical systems.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Journeyman Plumber or Journeyman Pipefitter or similar role working with mechanical systems, piping, and machinery.
- Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems, with the ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities to quickly identify and resolve issues related to mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and a commitment to following safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in the use of hand and power tools, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- A technical diploma or certification in mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Driving record must meet company standards and not reflect any disqualifying violations per our driving policy.
