Compensation:
Salary Range: $103,721 – $146,827 (Grade C, 677 hay points)
Responsibilities:
The Deputy Project Manager will assist in directing engineering related activities that cover all aspects of the design of new technology interfaces, production, delivery, acceptance, and release for passenger service for the R211 project. The Deputy Project Manager will recommend and implement new technology to enhance functionality, simply design, and reduce lifecycle costs. The selected candidate will conduct design reviews and technical discussions with the carbuilder and suppliers to maximize safety, reliability, and performance efficiency. The Deputy Project Manager will direct and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures from design through final car acceptance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. The selected candidate will develop measures using appropriate tools and techniques and apply innovative methods to improve project performance. Will direct and manage the work of engineers and provide technical support to Department of Car Equipment (DCE) field locations including Maintenance and Overhaul Facilities and the Central Electronics Shop. The Deputy Project Manager will interface with MTA C&D to ensure seamless integration of CBTC equipment on the new car fleet.
Education and Experience:
A baccalaureate degree in Engineering, or a related field with nine (9) years of experience of which six (6) years must have been in an administrative/supervisory/managerial capacity
A valid New York State P.E. - Professional Engineer's License; or
A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of NYCT rules and regulations. Experience in the rapid transit industry. Knowledge of principles and practices in engineering design/project management. Proficient in MS Project and/or Primavera & the MS Office Suite. Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills. Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team-based environment. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Licensed P.E. in the State of New York.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
