Ashland Specialty Ingredients GP is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join the Intermediates business at our headquarters in Wilmington, DE.  This role does not manage people, but manages assigned accounts from a sales and marketing perspective.  The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Deliver the business plan for the assigned accounts: sales volume, revenues and profits with strategic price management.
  • Develop leads and prospects by establishing an understanding of their needs and implementing a plan to grow a value add business.
  • Contribute insights and collected market intelligence to the regional and global business plan. Implement and execute team driven strategy.
  • Provide accurate monthly and quarterly sales forecasts to commercial team and input in demand planning tool.
  • Manage customers' product quality and regulatory requirements as well as the qualification process for the intermediates' product range; assist and troubleshoot with logistics and supply chain requirements for strategic accounts and market segments.
  • Develop full understanding of LIB market in NA, including key players and tier 1 suppliers along the value chain for EV, ESS and other applications.
  • Develop Surfadone product range at select strategic accounts for the Americas in line with the other Intermediates products.
  • Provide support and information to the new business development initiatives within Intermediates, help to identify and develop niche markets.
  • Support and develop existing/strategic accounts.
  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety.
  • Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others.

To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

Must have a BS in technical field, such as engineering, chemistry, materials, or petrochemicals and 5 years of progressively responsible, post bachelor’s related experience in chemical additive sales. Required experience must also include minimum 5 years of experience in the following specific skills:

  • Account management/business development, including leading major business accounts, achieving consistent revenue growth, managing relationships with strategic key accounts.
  • Sales and the sales process.
  • Project management, specifically client-centric planning, cross-functional coordination, budget management, risk mitigation and performance monitoring during the project life cycle.
  • Presenting markets, supply and demand overview as well as product applications to relevant contacts at the customer: procurement, technical department.
  • Key account management, including results tracking and building value of the key customer, continuous improvement of all aspects of the selling to and servicing of a key customer, contract negotiations, and CRM management.
  • Excel, Word, Powerpoint, SF.com, Power BI, Arkieva.

Travel requirements up to 50% in the North American region and 15% international.  This is a remote opportunity.
