Introduction

Are you ready to take on a role where your decisions directly impact the community? As a Revenues Officer, you’ll be at the heart of Lewisham’s efforts to deliver fair, efficient, and responsive revenue services ensuring every pound counts and every resident is supported.

What’s the role?

Join our Revenues team and play a vital role in delivering fair and effective Council Tax collection across the borough. As a Revenues Officer within the Corporate Debt team administering from summons through to committal, you’ll manage complex cases, represent the Council in court, and ensure accurate and timely recovery of outstanding debts. You’ll work closely with customers, enforcement agents, and legal bodies to uphold statutory responsibilities and maximise income. This is a dynamic role for someone with strong legislative knowledge and experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to public service.

We have x3 full time (35 hours) 12-month fixed term roles available.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London SE6 4RU but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special conditions

  • The role will involve court attendance and working with external enforcement and legal bodies.
  • Candidates must comply with the Council’s dress code and meet standard physical requirements, including an eye test.
  • The job is subject to a basic DBS disclosure check
  • This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months

Salary

£40,404 - £41,637 per annum (SO1)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
