The City Planning Commission Member Alternate is appointed by the Mayor with the approval of Council. The term of the alternate member shall be six (6) years. It is the function of and duty of the Planning Commission to make and adopt a general plan for the development and improvement of the City. The City Planning Commission meets twice a month on first and third Friday mornings to review zoning ordinances, legislation (mandatory referrals), substandard lot splits or consolidations, design review cases, etc. The City Planning Commission member alternate will attend meetings as needed when Members are unable to attend, and must be a City of Cleveland resident. $187 per diem served
