Position Summary:  
The Connections Director is responsible for helping people move from guests to fully engaged members of Westover Hills Church. This role oversees both the Connections Ministry and Volunteer Intake, ensuring that every person who walks through our doors experiences genuine hospitality, meaningful relationships, and clear next steps toward belonging and serving.
Outcome:  
This leader works closely with the Connections & Growth Pastor to strengthen Westover’s mission to Follow Jesus. Love People. through excellent weekend experiences, intentional follow-up, and a thriving volunteer culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Connections Ministry
- Oversee all weekend guest experience teams, including Greeters, Ushers, Safety (Transportation/Traffic), Welcome Team, and First-Time Guest Experience.
 - Ensure each team is trained, scheduled, and equipped to create a welcoming and consistent environment across all services.
 - Lead, plan, and execute the monthly Sunday Social — a first-time guest event that helps new people connect to community and next steps.
 - Oversee the first-time guest follow-up and care system, ensuring timely and personal communication with guests.
 - Oversee the engagement pathway progress of guests to become active participants — from first-time connection to consistent involvement in groups, serving, and community life.
 
Volunteer Intake
- Oversee the intake, onboarding, and placement of new volunteers across ministries, ensuring a clear and relational process from interest to involvement.
 - Coordinate and help facilitate the Love People Class (bi-monthly) — the starting point for those ready to join a serve team.
 - Partner with department leaders to maintain accurate tracking, training, and support for all volunteers.
 - Cultivate a strong volunteer culture through appreciation events, care, and ongoing communication.
 - Develop systems that make volunteer engagement clear, scalable, and sustainable.
 - Identify, train, and empower volunteer leaders to multiply impact within their teams.

- Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing volunteers in a church or organizational setting.

 - Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Westover Hills Church.

 - Extend the heart and spirit of the church, and ultimately the Lead Pastor.
