Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: The Wound Care Assistant (WCA) is accountable for assuring the provision of quality wound care to all wound clinic patients within his/her scope of practice. The WCA ensures that the patients’ physical and psychosocial needs are met in the clinic; all patients care is documented according to policy. This position is responsible for assessing, implementing and evaluating quality patient care and within his/her scope pf practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The Wound Care Associate)
- Implements and evaluates quality patient care that is consistent with the established policies and procedures of the clinic.
- Competently helps treat wounds of the following categories as directed by the Nurse or Wound Specialist: Venous, Arterial, Diabetic, Burns, Surgical, Neuropathic, Traumatic, Bacterial, Viral and Fungal.
- Is knowledgeable of the age specific attributes of the patients presenting for care.
- Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
- Is responsible for making wound care decisions within his/her scope of practice (as described by licensure and/or hospital policy) relating to patient care and performing other duties and functions that include, but are not limited to those described.
- Utilizes effective human relations and communication skills when interfacing with physicians, practitioners, patients/families/significant others and takes positive action to resolves patient care problems. Promotes excellence in customer/quest/staff/professional relations.
- Conduct reflects the mission, vision and guiding principles of Mountain View Hospital and the Advance Care and Hyperbaric Center.
- Agrees to abide by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Current License or certification as a CNA, Paramedic or EMT. BLS certification and renewal as required.
Experience: Preferred, but not required.
Equipment/Technology: Has the ability to successfully and competently utilize computer software for operation of department.
Language/Communication: Has the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format.
Mathematical Skills: Average
Mental Capabilities: Able to exercise independent judgment with attention to detail. Must have the ability to concentrate for long periods of time in order to complete assigned tasks with a better than average attention span, in order to listen, read and remember verbal and written instructions. Can understand input from the director concerning errors and instructions.
Performance: Able to deal with difficult client situations and emergencies in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to handle conflict issues with both patients and staff. Able to maintain confidentiality.
