Position Overview: The Operations Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic initiatives across our site operations. This role involves developing and maintaining key performance indicators, identifying improvement opportunities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and capacity planning. Key Responsibilities:
Operational Performance and Process Improvement:
- Develop, maintain, and track site-level Operational Key Performance Indicators (important metrics).
- Identify improvement opportunities and production bottlenecks; build and implement targeted improvement plans and risk mitigations.
- Facilitate monthly Operations Leadership Team (OLT) reviews, communicating important metric insights to support decision-making and guide departmental strategy.
- Serve as a key member of the daily value stream management process, reporting important metrics to cross-functional collaborators and intensifying issues as needed.
- Conduct operator engagement sessions to increase awareness of performance results and business impact.
Short to Mid Term Production & Capacity Planning:
- Review and manage equipment and labor capacity with the OLT.
- Conduct routing due diligence to ensure ERP routings are accurate; support routing and timing improvement initiatives.
- Participate in weekly cross-functional forums to provide updates on operational capabilities, performance, and risks; identify and act on production opportunities.
Long-term Production/Site Strategy:
- Partner with the OLT to assess, develop, and implement production strategies that enable long-term growth.
- Collaborate with Business Management and Supply Chain to build effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forecasts, with emphasis on labor utilization, routing accuracy, and demand alignment.
- Work with Engineering, Practical Process Improvement (PPI), and Corporate teams to design new production processes and optimize existing ones through lean practices.
Leadership:

- Build strong relationships with site leaders, managers, and staff to understand objectives, priorities, and needs, and translate them into improvement initiatives.

- Inspire change and act as a motivator for transformation across production and site operations.
- Promote a safe working environment, ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety standards, and proactively address hazards.
Qualifications:
- Prior operations experience, with the capacity to engage directly on the floor and learn processes firsthand.
- Strong planning and scheduling skills.
- Broad understanding of end-to-end site operations and interdependencies.
- Continuous improvement mentality, focused on eliminating waste and driving efficiency.
- Proficiency in data analysis and translating insights into action.
- Project management skills; capable of coordinating initiatives and delivering results.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the competence to connect day-to-day issues to long-term strategy.
- Relationship-building strengths that champion accountability and collaboration.
- Objective and unbiased approach, prepared to challenge Operations as well as other functions to improve site performance.
