The On-site Buyer will be responsible for purchasing goods for a company to use or sell in their own business. This position requires extensive research and the ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, manage an inventory, evaluate quality goods, and stick within a budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the purchase of FSRM items required by our divisions in timely manner. Speed is the essence here.
- Ensure no production stoppage due to shortage of FSRM items.
- Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
- Streamline the purchase of FSRM items by building systems that enhance speed and also help maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Study sales records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing programs that facilitate employee access to supplies.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
- Research and evaluate suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
- Develop one-stop suppliers (like Grainger) to eliminate excessive documentation and to promote speed.
- Implement systems like vending machines for FSRM items, having blanket POs for repeated items etc.
- Execute special projects like plant improvement (beautification) projects. This involves planning, ARF requests, handling the contractors and service providers, reporting the progress made and ensuring all projects are completed on time.
- Extended presence needed in manufacturing facilities for such projects.
- Interview vendors and visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.
- Streamline freight management at divisions.
- This would involve benchmarking, contracting, having different freight options and cost reductions.
- Manage the purchase of FSRM (indirect) items at SSWs plants.
- Manage the plant improvement (beautification) projects at all divisions by managing contractors and service providers.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, public administration, or a related field
- 2 or more years' experience in accounting or related business area.
- Experience in a Metal Manufacturing companies preferred.
Working conditions:
- Frequently Indoor.
- Occasionally exposed to High Temperatures and Loud Noises.

General requirements:
- Availability to go to the office from Monday to Friday
