Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging A-Level Drama and Performing Arts lessons that foster creativity, confidence, and critical thinking.
- Design inclusive and imaginative learning experiences that support diverse learners and promote artistic exploration.
- Assess student progress through practical and written work, offering constructive feedback to enhance performance and analytical skills.
- Create and adapt teaching materials that bring theatre, movement, and performance theory to life.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curriculum content and share best practices across the department.
- Integrate digital and multimedia tools to enrich the learning experience and support creative expression.
- Provide academic and pastoral support, guiding students in achieving their goals both on stage and beyond.
- Contribute to a vibrant and supportive learning environment that reflects the College’s commitment to excellence and creativity.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a closely related discipline.
- A teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or Level 5 equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one.
- Proven experience teaching Drama or Performing Arts, with a record of engaging lessons and strong student outcomes.
- The ability to develop high-quality, creative learning materials that challenge and inspire.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate learners of all abilities.
- Confidence in using digital tools and multimedia to enhance teaching and performance.
- A strong commitment to student success, equality, and inclusion.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to working within a supportive teaching team

- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
