Job Summary:

  • Respond to guest calls as requested. Prioritize and respond to these tasks in a timely manner.
  • Professionally speak with guests as needed to update status of work repair in guest rooms.
  • Complete additional projects and daily tasks as assigned by leadership including light work in furniture repair, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, tile work, lighting, etc.
  • Work closely with housekeeping and guest services to ensure guest satisfaction of facilities and functions in guest rooms, public and exterior areas of property.
  • Ensure guest rooms, restaurants, and public areas are maintained to company standards. Inspect all areas during walkthroughs to report task list items to leadership.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks on property's systems and functions. Clean HVAC units, complete filter changes, check pressure gauges and temperatures, etc.  
  • Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures, emergency evacuation procedures and all safety related issues.
  • Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration.
  • Understand and use safe work practices for all safety precautions including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Ability to remain standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to walk the property and grounds frequently.
  • Ability to move up and down stairs regularly.
  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs.
  • Ability to regularly move and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity, such as hammering, painting, cleaning, using hand tools, and fix small items.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently, including above head, repetitively during a shift.
  • Ability to visibly survey property areas clearly.
  • Ability to climb and carry ladders.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively, often in a public or group setting.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory background check.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks, operate equipment, and complete job duties in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • 1+ years general maintenance experience, hotel/lodging environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical operations.
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours base
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Express sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for property maintenance.
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion.
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.
