WHAT DOES A CUSTOMS MANAGER DO?
Responsible for managing Bacardi USA’s Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, ensuring compliance with FTZ regulations, and supporting internal and external stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong foundation in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, and Federal Excise Tax administration. You bring working knowledge of the Alcohol Beverage Industry and are familiar with the Craft Beverage Modernization Act (CBMA). You thrive in a compliance-driven environment, take initiative to identify and implement process improvements, and communicate effectively across teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as the location’s FTZ Administrator.
· Oversee 300+ FTZ entries per month and weekly consumption entries.
· Maintain compliance with FTZ regulations and recordkeeping.
· Coordinate with operations on inbound schedules and minimize detention/demurrage.
· Maintain working knowledge of Federal Excise Tax and CBMA.
· Ensure proper recordkeeping for destruction per US Customs and TTB guidelines.
· Support internal customers with FTZ-related training and documentation.
· Collaborate with customs and operations teams to streamline FTZ processes.
· Working knowledge of Export requirements to the Caribbean, Canada, and Latin America.
· Ensure EditTrade and Integration Point is loaded with the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule, ECCN and Country of Origin for all products.
SKILLS
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Familiarity with FTZ regulations and compliance requirements.
· Proficiency in relevant systems (SAP, EditTrade, Integration Point).
· Ability to manage processes and coordinate with multiple departments.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Working knowledge of various Custom Forms (CF214, CF215, CF216, CF7512, CF3461, CF7501, CF349)
· Certified Customs Specialist or Accredited Zones Specialist (AZS) is a plus
PERSONAL QUALITIES
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· 5 years Broker experience or equivalent
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
