Full-time position - Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
 
Responsible for scanning and indexing documents.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    
1. Responsible for scanning paper documents into digital form.
    2.  Responsible for indexing/naming batches of digital documents to create a database according to client specifications.
    3.  Responsible for routine cleaning of scanner on a daily basis and on an as needed basis.
    4.  Various other duties as assigned.

Reports directly to CDS Manager
 
PERFORMANCE SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
   
1. Read, speak and understand English.
    2.  Be proficient in Windows computer environment.
    3.  Type at least 35 wpm, alphanumeric, with 0 errors.
    4.  Be able to create, name, and locate folders and files on hard drive / server / network.
    5.  Read and recognize content of printed and handwritten documents at a level sufficient to identify and sort.
    6.  Adapt to variations in directions for specific client jobs.
    7.  Demonstrate understanding of alphabetical filing and retrieval.
    8.  Be detail oriented to consistently complete all required preparation steps.
    9.  Be willing to ask for guidance in unfamiliar situations.
    10.  Be willing to follow directions.
    11.  Be multi-task oriented.
    12.  Possess strong organizational skills.
 
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
 
At the end of the introductory period, employee must be able to:
    1.  Perform all document scanning requirements.
    2.  Respond to scanner error messages quickly and efficiently.
    3.  Perform all document indexing requirements.
    4.  Consistently combine speed with accuracy without sacrificing either.
    5.  Work independently under the direction of a supervisor
    6.  Maintain focus in a production environment without allowing distractions to interrupt the pace of work.
    7.  Efficiently and effectively combine visual and manual preparation tasks in a single cycle.
 
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
   
1. Corrected vision sufficient to accurately read fonts as small as 6 points, discern levels of contrast and a full range of colors.
    2.  Peripheral vision sufficient to consistently visually check image quality of each page as it is shown on computer screen while also watching pages being fed into and coming out of scanner at a rate of 90-110 pages per minute.
    3.  Sit and/or stand at work station for extended periods of time.
    4.  Use both hands, wrists and arms, sufficient to perform job requirements.
    5.  Perform substantial repetitive motions with hands, wrists and both arms.
    6.  Lift document stacks and/or boxes weighing up to 25 lbs., and carry them a minimum of 10 ft.
    7.  Perform frequent reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing.
 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent
