Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities

The Role
You’ll own projects end-to-end: planning shoots, operating camera and sound on set, craft edits, and build motion graphics that bring stories to life—always with impact and accessibility in mind. You’ll partner closely with producers, creatives, and clients to deliver high-quality content at pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-production
    • Help shape briefs into treatments, shot lists, and simple storyboards.
    • Assist in planning small-scale shoots
    • Contribute and feed into creative ideas that ladder up to brand, campaign and purpose goals.
  • Production (self-shooting)
    • Operate cameras (Blackmagic ideally), lenses and basic grip (tripod, gimbal).
    • Light small sets/interviews with LED fixtures; capture clean sound (lav).
    • Direct contributors and work solo or with a micro-crew on location.
  • Post-production
    • Edit short-form and mid-form content for internal, external, online and social.
    • Develop simple motion graphics to support edits: lower thirds, kinetic type, animated titles ect.
    • Grade (basic knowledge and confidence in colour grading)
    • Mix and master audio (dialogue clean-up, music/sfx, loudness for platform specs).
    • Version, subtitle and QC deliverables against channel guidelines and accessibility best practice.
  • Collaboration & workflow
    • Keep projects organised: file naming, proxies, shared storage, backups.
    • Collaborate with client services/producer on feedback cycles; deliver on time to agreed scopes.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar multi-disciplinary role (agency, brand, or production company).
  • A portfolio/showreel demonstrating end-to-end videography, strong editing craft, and polished motion design for social and online channels.
  • Confident across Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (expressions a bonus); basic knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator; DaVinci Resolve for grade a plus.
  • Hands-on with modern camera systems (Blackmagic a plus), gimbal basics, LED lighting, and dual-system sound.
  • Solid understanding of platform specs (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn), aspect ratios, safe areas, and thumbnail/title principles.
  • Comfortable prioritising across multiple projects; calm under tight deadlines.
  • Clear communication, collaborative approach, and a can-do attitude.
