Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) in Europe is a dynamic client-centric practice that co-creates and manages a range of innovative portfolio solutions across Marsh Europe Countries and Practices. MPS comprises dedicated professionals across multiple European countries providing a range of intermediary services to clients, colleagues and insurers including product and capacity development, corporate governance, management information, and market insights.
What can you expect:
To manage a portfolio of facilities across the property, casualty and specialty practices supported by a team of product and data managers that you will manage.
To take the lead role on one or more facilities, as may be necessary.
Ensure that all facilities are managed in line with MPS procedures, regulatory requirements and best practice whilst delivering contracted services to our insurer clients.
You will be responsible for the MPS relationship with the property, casualty and specialty practices to identify new opportunities and promote the use of existing solutions.
To manage insurer relationships, and resolve questions and challenges that may arise
We will rely on you to:
For the design and execution of the MPS strategy in Europe (excluding UK), including new solution creation, governance and performance for all retail and wholesale solutions where Marsh presents a portfolio of exposures to the market, including facilities, delegated authority solutions, lineslips.
Key priorities include:
Increase Penetration/Use of PS: Driving optimization, growth and profitability of all solutions with an emphasis on solutions in the Corporate segment, by delivering innovative and sustainable client value through organizing key capacity, improved product design and expanding leverage of the existing portfolios.
Governance: Assuring all solutions are fit-for-purpose and consistent with the Marsh PS Operating Principles (attached), including structure, compensation, insurer selection, services provided, and approval schemes.
Co-creation and sponsorship of solutions to be primarily executed by Placement in partnership with MPS and in-country segment leadership.
Reporting: Reports to Global Placement Leader Marsh Europe, with an indirect reporting line to International MPS leader.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Lead strategy and execution on capacity utilization for MPS in Europe (excluding UK), including senior level engagement with carriers in partnership with regional placement (property and casualty) and specialty leadership
Provide critical insights and information to carrier partners of MPS
Evaluate efficacy of all solutions and implement actions to close, consolidate or expand
Collaborate with global MPS group to create and manage framework and systems for capturing transaction level placement information for MPS and partnering with carriers to optimize operational efficiencies (in partnership with Placement Operations, MGTI, JLT Mumbai and Marsh Digital)
Responsible for implementation of any fee for service solutions
What you need to have:
This role will suit a confident, articulate individual who performs well in presentations, is good at building relationships and is happy to work in a flexible role.
An understanding of European (and International) insurance market dynamics and core processes.
Support Management of and contracts and subsequent amendments, including fee negotiations, in line with the Governance Framework
An ability and desire to build relationships internally at all levels, both within Marsh, and insurers.
Highly organised and methodical in approach, with an ability to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines.
Balanced leadership, and a desire to manage and develop team
What makes you stand out:
Proven experience of working within insurance from an Underwriting, Broking, Claims or Distribution background
A desire to problem solve with new and innovative solutions
Prior experience in managing multiple facilities
Excellent organisational and project management skills, with an ability to quickly determine what the most urgent tasks are.
