At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Context

As part of the continuous improvement of our railway products, you will work closely with engineering teams. Your mission will be to structure a technical database, map the equipment that influences noise levels, and explore artificial intelligence solutions for data visualization. You will contribute to the development of innovative tools to support technical decision-making.

Internship Objectives

This internship offers a comprehensive and cross-functional view of rolling stock, focusing on equipment that affects acoustic performance: external noise, internal noise, safety announcements, and passenger messages. These phenomena result from a complex combination of sound sources: structure-borne noise, aerodynamic noise, rolling noise, and traction-related noise.

Main Tasks

  • Structure and enrich a technical database dedicated to the vibroacoustic performance of tramways
  • Map acoustically sensitive equipment
  • Initiate a study on integrating AI modules capable of predicting acoustic risks based on train architecture choices

This internship provides a strategic entry point into a detailed understanding of vibroacoustic challenges, while developing skills in data structuring, system analysis, and digital innovation.

What You’ll Appreciate

Join us for a rewarding experience: the railway sector is a forward-looking industry offering many opportunities for growth and learning throughout your career.

You will be able to:

  • Deepen your understanding of vibroacoustic challenges in the railway domain
  • Develop your skills in data structuring and artificial intelligence solutions
  • Collaborate with vibroacoustic experts and systems engineers

Candidate Profile

As part of our vibroacoustic activities in the railway sector, we are looking for a student enrolled in an engineering school or Master’s program, with a specialization in data engineering and acoustics.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have basic knowledge of acoustics to understand technical vibroacoustic issues
  • Be proficient in data structuring and processing tools: SQL, Excel, Python
  • Be able to analyze and visualize technical data effectively
  • Show interest in the railway sector and its industrial challenges
  • Be curious about artificial intelligence tools and their application in industrial contexts

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
