Job Description:
Note: This position is located at the School of Advance Manufacturing and Transportation Technology, 1764 Oxford Street, London, Ontario.
Duties: Under the general supervision of the Lab Operations Manager, Faculty of Science, Trades, Technology, and Design, the incumbent provides technical support and assistance to staff, faculty and students in the daily operations, maintenance, organization and implementation of Heavy Duty Truck, Agricultural and diesel related programs in the School of Transportation Technology and Apprenticeship. The incumbent will service and repair all tools and equipment (install, clean, adjust, dismantle, recondition, repair/rebuild/replace parts, assemble and test as required). Record maintenance and repair activities for shop tools and equipment. Requisition academic supplies and maintenance supplies as required. They will develop instructional aids to demonstrate techniques and prepares materials for related classes.
Qualifications:
- Trade Certificate of Qualification as Truck/Coach and/or other Heavy Duty Certificate of Qualification, including Agricultural Equipment Technician (exp: 425A or 310T or equivalent, Interprovincial Seal).
- Minimum 5 years or related experience
- AZ driver’s license would be an asset
- Candidates with welding experience preferred
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
