Description
PURPOSE:
To provide professional work as part of the Floor Crew Department of Goodwill Industries of North Central PA, Inc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. is required. Prior floor care/cleaning experience preferred.
- Must have current, valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and clean MVR.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
- Must respond appropriately to supervision.
- Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The ability to be trained on all basic and advanced floor cleaning techniques and proper, safe operation of equipment
- The ability to effectively communicate with associates, and management to ensure high levels of customer service and efficiency.
- Exposure to dirt, dust, and chemical solutions is necessary.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills required.
- Must have the ability to learn how to measure and mix cleaning solutions and be alert to hazards.
- Frequent turning, stooping, bending and reaching is required.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must possess the ability to lift 50 pounds throughout work shift is required.
- Must possess the ability to lift more than 50 pounds, with help, is required.
- Must be available all shifts and available for "call outs" as necessary to maintain facilities cleanliness of floors.
- General shift is four, ten-hour night shifts (Monday through Thursday 6pm to 4am, hours and days could vary)
- Occasional overnight stays may be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all required duties, including but not limited to: cleaning, stripping, and waxing floors.
- Learn specifications, job duties, and time management of the Floor Crew.
- Provide inspections for quality assurance, report non-compliances to Lead Floor Crew Worker.
- Build and promote team skills among Floor Crew.
- Interact with management to maintain a high level of customer service and respond to complaints promptly.
- Maintain safe working conditions and establish specific safety standards for all Floor Crew.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RELATIONS:
Reports directly to the Lead Floor Crew Worker, Contracts Supervisor, CFO and/or President and CEO.

- Degree to which standards are reached.
- Degree to which respect and confidence of co-workers is established.
- Quality, quantity, and timeliness in the performance of assigned tasks.
- The manner in which one's conduct reflects the high standards of morals and integrity expected of all Goodwill associates.
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests and the desires of management.
- The manner in which the individual reflects his/her overall personal appearance both in following of the Goodwill dress code and personal hygiene.
