Astria Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist Lead to join our team! This will be at our Laboratory Department at Astria Toppenish Hospital. 

What you get to do every day!

Under the direction of Laboratory Management, the Lead Medical Technologist aids in the establishment of laboratory goals and objectives, oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the laboratory while ensuring laboratory compliances with established regulations. You will:

• Performs and reports waived, non-waived and highly complex, routine and STAT laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urinalysis, and Immunohematology.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results with minimal supervision.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infections control standards, so the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
• Performs and monitors Quality Control and Maintenance procedures.
• Conducts calibration, AMR verification and correlations according to established frequencies.
• Answers technical questions pertaining to the test performance and medical significance.
• Assists with writing and maintaining policies and procedures
• Assists with developing, monitoring and conducting staff training and competencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned
