About the Role
The role will have responsibilities across different shifts assigned by the Supply Chain Manager. Teamwork and coordination are key to this position’s success. They ensure that working environments are safe. The position is responsible for driving current storage and logistics performance in the areas of Safety, Productivity, Quality, and Morale using Continuous Improvement operating framework. This includes managing the crews and activities as well as working individually and on teams to identify areas of opportunity to cause beneficial change. The key to success with this position is following sustainable processes, KPI’s and identifying improvements to liquid receiving and loading from the bays through the scale house.
What You'll Do
- Supervisor across all shifts handling inbound raw milk and outbound finished product, working directly with co-workers in Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Project.
- Execute the day-to-day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials, and systems) to efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively achieve performance.
- Provide direct supervision of hourly employees to include: interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Perform performance management, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements.
- Accountable for the productivity of your crews during all shifts. This requires contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring general performance and behavior of employees, and adjusting crewing or call-in replacements as necessary.
- Direct partner with Maintenance, Material Planning, Quality Support, Warehouse, and other department leadership to ensure efficient operation to meet plant goals.
- Driving Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality culture by protecting employees’ health and safety, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and plant safety rules, meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction on safety procedures, and supporting plant EHS and Quality initiatives as required.
- Active leadership as assigned in DDS and regularly cascading and communicating site targets and goals from the Leadership Team to shift crews consistently and accurately.
- Accountable for ensuring SAP transactions, financial reporting, and inventory tracking are completed in the required time and meet the standard for compliance.
- Follow the process for direct communication with the plant planning team to allow real-time feedback to transportation and customers.
- Follows all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and works in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
About You
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 2-year Technical/Engineering or Supply Chain Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisory or managing part of a manufacturing operation experience, with a minimum of 1 year

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate with others. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally 60 pounds with assistance. See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in heat and cold/inclement weather.
