Horizon Retail Construction, an established national general contractor, is looking for a full-time Human Resources Specialist at our Corporate Headquarters in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, phone screenings, interviews, reference checks, and pre-hire assessments.
- Manage college internship and high school apprenticeship programs. Manage college & tech school recruitment.
- Process hiring-related paperwork and maintain accurate employment records (e.g., hiring, terminations, leaves, transfers, promotions).
- Support compensation and benefits programs.
- Design and implement career development and training programs.
- Lead onboarding initiatives to ensure new hires are set up for success from day one.
- Coordinate and deliver company-wide training programs as directed.
- Administer PTO and maintain related records.
- Generate reports on hiring, turnover, and other employee metrics.
- Maintain employee files and documentations.
- Auditing of workplace operations.
- Serve as a resource for interpreting and communicating HR policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Summary of Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other personnel systems.
- Knowledge of recruitment best practices and employee training principles.
- Ability to design and manage administrative processes and workplace technology.
- Customer service mindset with a focus on employee support and satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to teach, advise, and assist employees.
- Ability to comprehend and respond effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
