Equus Compute Solutions currently has an opening for a hands-on Process Improvement Technician at our City of Industry, California, location. The Process Improvement Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that system integration processes and final products meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position leads quality assurance activities, performs detailed inspections, and analyzes data to identify areas for improvement in hardware and software assembly operations. The Process Improvement Technician collaborates closely with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and optimize workflows—reducing defects and enhancing product reliability. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Ultimately, the Process Improvement Technician helps ensure that all products meet customer expectations and comply with industry standards. This individual will also provide support to our QC inspectors and Quality Assurance functions, including managing the document control system. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

- Enforce all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Reliable, Hands on, data & process driven, detail oriented, positive and ‘can-do’ attitude, sense of curiosity to solve problems and drive improvements with a sense of urgency.
- Conduct inspections and testing of components and integrated systems to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze assembly operations to identify defects, process deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Actively manage and maintain the Document Control Process & System, documenting the process covering all requirements such as change management, configuration records, change & training logs, compliance documentation, etc.
- Ensure proper versioning, accessibility, and retention of quality-related documents within the QMS.
- Document inspection results and quality metrics using PC-based tools to support traceability and data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including production, engineering, and supply chain—to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Lead root cause investigations and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Perform internal audits and support external audit readiness activities.
- Actively drives continuous improvement based on KPIs where appropriate.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- ASQ Certification: ISO 9001 Certified Quality Auditor.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher is a plus.
Essential Education, Skills and Experience:
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality technician role within a systems integration or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Highly technical with strong knowledge of assembly operations and quality control methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Ability to write routine reports, generating documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, generating checklists and forms, etc.
- Experience conducting process audits and documenting compliance findings
- Experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment (e.g., computers, aerospace, medical devices)
- Familiar with computer architecture as well as software, and firmware.
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015 internal and external auditing.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and audit support.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining document integrity.
- Proficient in MS Office, ERP/MES or other data management systems.
- The base pay range for this role is between $24.04/hour and $33.65/hour and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location, along with budgeted range of position.
