Job Summary
The Commission Specialist is responsible for accurate calculation, timely processing, and ongoing administration of sales commissions. This role ensures alignment with compensation plans, policies, and regulatory requirements, while delivering transparent and auditable reporting to sales leadership and finance. The ideal candidate combines strong numerical aptitude with attention to detail, process discipline, and excellent stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities
· Calculate, validate, and reconcile sales commissions in accordance with approved compensation plans and timelines.
· Maintain and audit commission data in [CRM/ERP systems, e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP], ensuring data integrity and traceability.
· Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, and HR to design, implement, and update commission and bonus plans, quotas, accelerators, splits, and thresholds.
· Process commission payments on a monthly/bi-weekly cycle; handle exceptions and investigate discrepancies.
· Produce and distribute commissions-related reporting (payer reports, quota attainment, payout summaries, accretion/recapture analytics) for sales leadership and executive stakeholders.
· Respond to internal inquiries from sales teams regarding commission calculations, timelines, and plan details; provide clear, timely documentation.
· Maintain documentation of compensation plans, policies, and change history; create user-friendly guides and training materials.
· Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability; participate in system upgrades and automation projects (ETL, data pipelines, BI dashboards).
· Support additional accounting / payroll work as needed.
Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements
· Degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related field helpful; or equivalent experience.
