Safety & Security Manager


Leading, high-volume resort operation is seeking a forward-thinking, strategic, and solutions-oriented Safety & Security Manager to lead property-wide safety, security, and risk mitigation efforts. This role oversees a dedicated security team and serves as a critical leader in protecting guests, team members, company assets, and the TPI Hospitality and Margaritaville brand reputation.

This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive, hands-on security leader with a positive, can-do attitude who thrives in dynamic environments such as resorts, casinos, theme parks, cruise lines, destination hotels, or entertainment venues.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and Team Development

·        Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing security team and supervisors.

·        Create a culture rooted in positivity, engagement, accountability, and guest service excellence.

·        Provide ongoing training in safety protocols, crisis response, de-escalation, and investigative procedures.

·        Serve as a visible, approachable leader who leads by example and drives teamwork.

 

Resort Safety and Operational Security

·        Oversee property-wide safety and security for guests, team members, and assets in a fast-paced, multi-outlet resort environment

·        Maintain strong presence across public areas, back-of-house, entrances, beach and pool zones, events, and high-traffic areas

·        Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Risk Management, Engineering, HR, and Events to maintain consistent and effective safety standards.

 

Risk Management and Compliance

·        Implement and enhance risk prevention, loss control, and emergency response procedures.

·        Ensure full compliance with local and state regulations, OSHA standards, fire codes, and company policies

·        Design and maintain comprehensive safety drills, evacuation plans, and incident readiness programs.

  

Investigations and Reporting

·        Lead sensitive, confidential investigations involving guest incidents, workplace misconduct, theft, or policy violations.

·        Prepare accurate, professional documentation and collaborate with HR, Legal, and Executive Leadership as needed

·        Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, risks, and preventive opportunities.

 

Safety Metrics and Injury Reduction

·        Demonstrate a proven track record of reducing on-site injuries for guests and employees through proactive analysis and corrective actions.

·        Monitor key safety metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen resort safety outcomes.

 

Required Qualifications:

·        6 to 10 years of progressive security leadership experience in a full-service resort, hotel, entertainment venue, theme park, casino, or cruise line.

·        Positive, can-do attitude with a collaborative, solution-focused approach.

·        Strategic and forward-thinking mindset with the ability to anticipate and prevent potential risks.

·        Proven success overseeing 24/7, high-volume operations.

·        Demonstrated ability to reduce incident rates and enhance overall guest and team member safety.

·        Strong knowledge of emergency response, risk management, OSHA standards, access control, and incident reporting systems.

·        Skilled in handling confidential investigations with discretion and professionalism.

·        High-energy, visible leader with excellent communication, conflict resolution, and guest relations skills.

·        Ability to foster trust, build engaged teams, and work collaboratively across all departments.


Preferred Attributes:

·        Experience in resort-style or multi-venue operations

·        Background in loss prevention, access control, or surveillance systems

·        Experience developing and executing large-scale event security plans

·        Certifications such as CPO, CPP, CHSO, ASIS, or OSHA are a plus
