Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of the Payment Posting team.

  • Adaptability to learn & cross train on the various patient accounting systems and processes to provide support.

  • Accountable for coordinating, distributing, communicating, organizing and overseeing workloads and deadlines within the department.

  • Lead, train, mentor, motivate and orientate teammates.

  • Development of training materials for cash posting operations and assisting in training of cash posters.

  • Audit quality/production, present and provide feedback to management of teammate performance.

  • Meet with the Manager regularly to effectively communicate and resolve Payment Posting issues, set and prioritize goals and improve processes.

  • Be lead customer support point of contact for all payment posting and issues.

  • Post all payer manual and electronic payments, contractual allowances, rejection codes, deductibles, and copayments to provide coverage as needed in all areas.

  • Report issues and trends timely and accurately.

  • Assist in audit, posting issues and unidentified payments and/or recoupments research to determine appropriate resolution.

  • Assist in payer EFT/ERA portal and deposit enrollment.

  • Identify credit balances created because of incorrect postings and bring to resolution.

  • Maximize efficiency in the payment posting team and coordinate across functional teams to resolve issues and improve overall performance.

  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments such as the finance, registration, collections, billing, coding, customer service, vendors (bank/agency) and clients to streamline processes, resolve issues, and improve overall revenue cycle management efficiency. Communicate effectively with team members, and management to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Experience with training others in business office activities.

  • Familiarity with bank lockboxes, ACH and daily reconciliation.

  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, be well organized & detail-oriented in a fast-paced multi facility environment.

  • Ability to think critically.

  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
