Summary

This Environmental Services Supervisor will aid peer Supervisors by providing oversight and leadership to Sr. Environmental Specialists, Environmental Specialists, and Environmental Analysts.  Support internal power plant operations and external clients with consulting services.  Support the development, implementation, and improvement of project plans, schedules, procedures, tools, and processes required to maintain a comprehensive Environmental Compliance Program.  Support the implementation of Environmental programs at NAES operated facilities to ensure compliance adherence with all applicable Environmental standards.  Provide guidance and direction to all assigned personnel, contract personnel, or resources, ensuring contract and client requirements are met. 

Primary Duties

  • Provide direct supervision and oversee their respective team’s performance and growth of the service lines and offerings in support of the department’s elected annual goals.   
  •  Support the creation and review of consulting proposals, contracts, and marketing material. Ensure that all contract requirements are met on assigned projects, including but not limited to the following: issuance of required reports, development of production delivery schedules, tracking of project status against planned execution, timely issuing, and correctness of all project invoices.  Be the point of contact for the customer of assigned projects.  
  •  Assist the team by managing workload, training of newer employees, and mentoring potential future leaders. Daily direction and actively contributing to “project teams” to develop and produce department processes, environmental policies, procedures, new tools, new products, and service offerings.   
  • Assist the Environmental Services department with project/contract management tasks including contract obligation tracking, contract revenue reporting, job number management, new Environmental Standards tracking & program development, maintaining transition checklists, resource tracking and assignment matrices, Issues and Actions tracking, Master Audit Schedules, PPO Assessment Program tracking and mobilization coordination.  
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of communication documents to promulgate information related to the Environmental Compliance Program to ensure that affected Parties are knowledgeable of all requirements.  
  • Travel to customer sites to help perform environmental compliance assessments, gap analyses, compliance program setups, mock audits, audit preparation, and training of plant personnel. Participate in industry forums to develop social networks of new and existing customers. 

Working Relationships 

Report to the Director, Environmental Services Operations and has direct reports (Sr. Environmental Specialists, Environmental Specialist, and Environmental Analysts).   

Compensation: 

The initial compensation will range from $147,800 to $170,000. 

Job Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental, scientific, or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Years of Experience: Five years of experience with environmental compliance, environmental consulting services, project management, and personnel supervision is required.
  • Preferred Experience: Ten or more years of direct experience. Experience in a matrixed organization.
  • Licenses/Certification: Professional environmental/engineering licenses/certifications (preferred).
  • Software/Equipment Knowledge: Working knowledge of MS Office Programs, Project Management, and data management systems to support compliance program and development of client deliverables. 
  • Other Considerations: Strong technical knowledge, expertise in environmental program areas and in-depth knowledge of environmental regulatory areas applicable to the energy sector. Demonstrated effectiveness in working with/leading teams and providing training and guidance. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Normal working hours are 7:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday through Friday.  Additional time may be required during periods of travel, high workload, or major projects. Client demands may dictate adjustment to the schedule including on-call duty and demands beyond the normal job description.  
  • Travel may be required to meet client or project requirements.  
  • Work is performed on industrial sites when traveling, requiring protective clothing and equipment.

    Fit for Duty

    All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
