Description

Developmental Pathways (DP) is seeking a Senior Vice President of Finance to join our Finance Team! This executive-level role is responsible for shaping and overseeing the organization’s financial strategy, health, and operations. The Senior Vice President of Finance will lead all fiduciary functions including financial planning, budgeting, accounting, treasury, risk management, and compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

The environment is a hybrid work setting, working as needed in our Aurora office, and/or off-site locations. The position will require motor vehicle travel, as necessary

Started in 1964, Developmental Pathways (DP) is a nonprofit agency serving more than 15,000 individuals with disabilities and their families in Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties. We are a designated Case Management Agency (CMA) for long-term care services and are one of Colorado’s Community Centered Boards (CCB), connecting people to federal, state, county, and private funding. We are also Colorado’s largest Early Intervention (EI) provider and help connect young children to essential resources, serving the City of Aurora in addition. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Finance and Accounting department, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support executive leadership and Board decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and regulatory requirements across all financial activities.
  • Direct contracts administration, treasury management, and centralized purchasing.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to streamline operations and enhance financial performance.
  • Serve as a key liaison with auditors, bankers, and the Board’s finance and audit committees.
  • Champion financial literacy and accountability across the organization.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Required

  • Fifteen (15+) years of financial leadership experience overseeing daily operations, personnel, and strategic stewardship of financial functions in an organization of at least 50 persons.
  • Thorough working knowledge in all aspects of not-for-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, program regulations and compliance requirements and appropriate Code of Federal Regulations sections; Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex fiduciary information and documents.
  • Knowledge of current trends, developments and theories in finance and accounting, risk management, strategic planning, organization development and program operations; decisive, well-versed in organizational systems and able to direct functions and make decisions from a “big picture” perspective.
  • Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Intelligent, articulate, possessing excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiator, experienced in contracts administration.
  • Thorough working knowledge of appropriate computer software and equipment for use in daily activities.

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Two to five (2-5) years employed in non-profits.
