Compensation: Compensation will be the greater amount between (GBS) $90,000 to $155,000 or 23% production for Drs with advanced training in exotics and 25% production for doctors that are board certified in exotics”
About the Job
Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking a skilled and versatile Associate Veterinarian with a strong interest in both Avian & Exotic and Primary Care Medicine. This is a unique opportunity that includes both in-hospital and mobile appointments. You will join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in a privately owned, non-corporate hospital that values innovation, compassion, and exceptional medical care. Our Avian & Exotics Department works with a broad caseload of reptiles, birds, small mammals, and other non-traditional species, while our Primary Care team supports a wide canine and feline patient base. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, board-certified specialists, and dedicated support staff, all within a team-oriented and progressive culture that embraces the use of advanced technologies to maximize efficiency and medical outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality wellness, urgent, and emergent medical and surgical care to exotic patients, including primary management of hospitalized patients and consultation with Emergency doctors regarding companion exotic patients who present to the ER
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnostic findings, treatment options, prognosis expectations, financial expectations, and at home care for their pet’s medical condition
• Collaborate with a skilled support team of technicians, assistants, and front desk staff within and outside of the Exotics Department
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely medical records and treatment plans
• Participation in rotating overnight/weekend/holiday on call schedule
• Participation in departmental and hospital meetings, rounds and case discussions
• Mentor Veterinary Interns and Veterinary Student Externs as assigned

Requirements
• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey
• Board-certified (DACVP) or residency-trained in Exotic animal practice, or at least 3 years of experience with an Exotics-heavy caseload
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, teaching, and communication skills
• Passion for client education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practicing medicine according to all spectrum of care aspects
