The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology. Start date is August 2026.

The Department of Psychology is located within the College of Arts and Sciences. The vision for our College, aligned with the university’s strategic plan, is to ensure that our students graduate career-ready to meet the world’s challenges, and that our faculty research and creative activity contribute to the public good. We achieve this through robust collaboration across departmental boundaries, with particular attention given to increasing experiential learning for our undergraduate and graduate students and connecting our scholarly and creative work to the needs of our region. We are especially interested in recruiting candidates who can contribute excellence in teaching, scholarly/creative work, and/or service toward achieving excellence throughout the university and to the greater community. The College is committed to faculty success, providing resources and support within the Dean’s Office and through collaboration with Arts and Sciences departments and schools, leadership teams in other colleges, and university-serving partners such as the Center for Faculty Excellence. The Department of Psychology at BGSU enjoys a nationally ranked doctoral program that offers specializations in clinical, industrial-organizational, developmental, and neural-cognitive sciences. The clinical area follows the scientist-practitioner model and has been continuously accredited by APA since 1970, receiving the highest level (then 7 years) of re-accreditation in 2016. Within the clinical area, areas of specialty include child/adolescent, behavioral medicine, community, and religion/spirituality. The new hire will join Clinical faculty members Eric Dubow, Catherine Stein, Annette Mahoney, Carolyn Tompsett, Abby Braden, Rebecca Campbell, and Dryw Dworsky (Director of Psychological Services Center). In all, the department includes 20 faculty members, approximately 80 graduate students, and over 600 undergraduate majors. The faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research.
